EVERYDAY INSIGHTS

What are your concerns?

Worried about falls?

An older woman sits on the floor holding her walker after a fallPhone showing the Nomo app: an emergency trigger reading potential fall detected from Elenor’s pendant Tag, an escalated alert in progress with the EMS call center dispatching local emergency services 3 minutes ago, and today’s potential fall alert at 11:00 am with the Care Circle contacted

When a fall, panic button press, or prolonged lack of movement is detected, Nomo instantly alerts the Care Circle by call, text, and push notification. If escalated, 24/7 emergency services can be dispatched to your loved one’s home.

Place panic buttons in high-risk areas like bathrooms, stairways, and bedside for added protection and faster response.

Has their sleep changed?

An older woman stretches as she wakes up in bedPhone showing the Nomo app’s Today list: 2 sleep interruptions, woke up at 7:15 AM, a chart of wake time trending earlier, and yesterday’s dinner time at 4:00 PM

Nomo Smart Care monitors nighttime movement to help you understand sleep patterns and identify changes, from frequent wake-ups and bathroom trips to unusual restlessness or longer time in bed.

Gain insights into sleep habits and changes over time, helping you stay informed and connected.

Did they take their medication?

A drawer of medicine bottles fitted with a Nomo TagPhone lock screen at 9:41 on Monday, June 22 with a Nomo notification: medicine cabinet opened at 9:40 AM, from Elenor’s medicine cabinet Tag

Nomo Smart Care tracks medication routines by recognizing daily habits and detecting when the medicine cabinet is accessed.

Nomo can identify changes that may indicate a missed dose or disrupted routine. When something seems unusual, Nomo sends an alert so you can check in and provide support when it matters most.

Wondering if they’re eating?

An older woman slices vegetables at her kitchen counterPhone showing the Nomo app’s Mealtimes screen: a chart of kitchen presence, kitchen visits at 7:30 AM, 12:10 PM and 5:15 PM, and dinner time at 5:15 pm, the usual time

The Nomo Smart Care system monitors activity around typical mealtime areas, helping you confirm that meals are happening regularly.

With a simple tag on the fridge or oven, it can detect if a meal was made, or if a mealtime was missed or delayed, and send an alert so you can check in before it becomes a concern.

How are their vitals?

Frequently asked questions

Will my loved one feel watched?

Nomo tracks basic movement, like walking down the hall or opening a cabinet, not video. Caregivers can view the daily routine in the app at any time and get an alert when something changes, for example if your loved one isn't out of bed by their usual time, skips a usual activity, or presses the panic button.

Where should I put the Hub?

Centrally, typically in the room where your loved one spends most of their day. Plug it into an outlet that is not controlled by a light switch.

Where should I plug in a Satellite?

Into a standard wall outlet with an unobstructed view, ideally with visibility to high-traffic areas such as hallways and adjacent rooms.

What is a Nomo Tag?

A battery-operated wireless movement sensor with an alert button. Attach it to things that move, like doors, drawers and windows, or to a non-moving surface within reach of a high-risk area such as a shower or bathtub.

Which phone settings must be on?

Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Location Services. In the app tap Settings > App Permissions, choose the permission, and you're taken to your phone's settings to enable it.

Does my loved one need a cell phone or the app?

No. During signup you can add either a cell phone or landline number for them. Installing the app on their phone is optional.

What is your return policy?

Physical products have a 30-day return window. If you aren't satisfied, return the item(s) within 30 days for a full refund. Start a return at nomosmartcare.com/apps/returns.

How long is the free trial?

The kit includes a 60-day free trial of essential+, then $19.99/month.

When does the free trial start?

When you set up payment for the app. You're asked for payment at the end of setup, or you can pay later in Settings → Account & Payments → Subscriptions.

How long is the Nomo warranty?

One year from the date the original customer bought the product, against defects in material and workmanship.

What is a Poke?

A Poke is an instant or scheduled visual alert or audio message that the Care Circle sends through the Nomo system. If sending an audio message, it can be recorded via the app and sent immediately or scheduled.

What happens when I get an automated emergency call?

The call announces: “Hello, this is an emergency call from Nomo Smart Care regarding [name]. An alert button has been pressed at their home and immediate action is needed. Please choose from the following. You may respond at any time by pressing the number or saying it aloud. Press one to cancel this alert. Press two to immediately connect to the Nomo speakerphone and speak to the home now, press 3 to escalate to a Nomo monitoring agent who will check on the home and dispatch Emergency Services. [repeat]” You can also respond in the app from the Home tab. Save (888) 486-3083 and (612) 491-7899 in your contacts so you recognize Nomo's calls.

What do I need before I set up the kit?

A private wireless internet connection (network name and password), and a smartphone or tablet running iOS 14.1 or later or Android 8.0 (Oreo) or later. These are not included. Have your loved one's contact information (phone number and address) and their Wi-Fi network name and password ready. 2.4 GHz must be enabled on your Wi-Fi (unless disabled, this should already be enabled).

What does the Hub do?

The Hub is the heart of the system. It senses motion, connects to Wi-Fi, and lets the family call in through the Hub with two-way talk. It has a microphone and speaker for calls over Nomo's private phone network, an LED ring and a privacy switch on the back. Firmware updates are pushed automatically.

Does the kit detect falls?

Nomo sensors are designed to detect sudden falls and periods of inactivity and can automatically alert caregivers and emergency services when a potential emergency is detected. A Tag worn as a pendant can also be used as a panic button and may provide fall detection.

Fall detection is not guaranteed to detect every fall. If you need help, always press the button on your Tag to send an alert.

What are Goals?

Goals let you track Mobility, Sleep, Eating and Regularity routines. For each goal you set a term and target, and you can choose to send reminders and receive notifications. Open them from Home > Goals (or Settings > Activities & Goals). You can track medicine, but it is not a specific Goal option.

What are Triggers and how will I be notified?

A Trigger sends a Warning or Emergency notification when conditions are met, including an absence of activity (for example “Late Night Motion” or “Morning Motion Absence”). You choose how to be notified: app push notification, text message and/or automated voice call. All Triggers generate Warnings; Emergency Triggers escalate if not responded to after a few minutes to start an emergency response.

Who calls 911 if nobody in the Care Circle responds?

Under the current essential+ plan, caregivers receive calls, texts and notifications three times over 15 minutes until someone resolves the alert in the app. If nobody responds, the alert escalates to 911.
